Rosary Inspiration for Our Lady of Fatima and the Immaculate Heart of Mary

We just celebrated the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima. Part of the Fatima message is to pray the rosary every day! To encourage the practice Our Lady requested, we’ve compiled some rosary designs inspired by Our Lady of Fatima and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Our Lady appeared at Fatima in a bright white dress and veil, with gold trim. During her last appearance, there was a miracle where the sun shone a dull silver in the sky and could be looked upon without hurting the eyes. Then, it began to whirl and dance through the sky, throwing brilliant colors before hurtling toward the earth. Pilgrims cried out thinking this was the end of the world, and the sun resumed its position in the sky. Scientists were unable to explain the strange phenomenon and the miracle was witnessed by not only the thousands gathered at the site of the apparitions, but by people many miles away from the site.

Our Lady later told Sister Lucia, one of the seers of the apparitions, to encourage the Five First Saturdays devotion honoring the Immaculate Heart of Mary. This devotion makes reparation for the blasphemies committed against Mary and comes with many graces.

The Our Lady of Fatima rosary designs are primarily white and gold, to reflect the clothing Our Lady wore during her appearances. The white opal beads have brilliant fiery colors, to symbolize the miracle of the sun. The silvery moonstone beads symbolize the sun when it shone a dull silver, before it began to dance in the sky. The red jade and pink opal Our Father beads symbolize the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The crucifix has delicate swirls at each point, which remind us of the cloud that appeared to take her to and from the holm oak tree she appeared on during the apparitions.

For the Immaculate Heart of Mary rosaries, we chose red and pink beads to symbolize her heart. The white beads bring us back to the miracle of the sun at Fatima, and also remind us of the purity of Mary’s heart. For the crucifix, we chose the one adorned with roses. Rosary comes from the Latin word “rosarium” which means a “crown of roses” or “garland of roses”. A rosary is a spiritual bouquet of prayers!

Any of these designs can be brought to life using our custom rosary builder. Simply go through the design process, step by step, and add the parts to your cart.
